[The feed opens to the sound of a somewhat ominous piano piece, unknown to the public at large save for the select people who share the Pokemon League castle's roof with Cynthia back home - or for the few who ever managed to get past the final member Elite Four.

Deft fingers keep on urging keys and strings and bringing music forth for a good while longer, until the final notes are played. That's when a pair of "Gaaaar!" and "Togeto!"  join in, prompting a small chuckle from her.]

Ah, you were right, sweethearts-- playing the piano really did help soothe and lift my spirits a little. I do still worry for those who disappeared, though. Have they been found yet, I wonder?

[Garchomp interrupts her train of thought with a growl, as though making a point.] You think we could go look for them, Garchomp? That's an excellent idea! We should start right away!

[This time, it is Togekiss who protests, patting the keyboard with a wing.] Oh, all right, Togekiss. But just one more song and then we're off, okay?

[Until the feed times out, the only thing that can be heard is the sound of the piano.]

It still is, for the most part-- probably not exactly like in the old days, but many people see Pokemon as their partners and friends.

Heh, my world is a little like that I think. There's not that much peace between species, but humans use pets and animals for just about everything.

Use them...? How do you mean? [Not liking the sound of that.]

For everything. Seagulls deliver mail and newspapers, seabulls are used for transportation in Water 7, den den mushi are psychic snails that can carry messages telepathically -- much like the communicators here. Most animals are treated better by humans than fishman and mermaids really.

Ah, I see. They don't do any of that against their will, though, do they?

Not to my knowledge. They don't sound as close as your pokemon, more wild, but still happy for what they are.

I'm happy to hear that. No creature should be treated as though they were less deserving of respect than others.

Yeah, I do! He's in Luffy's crew. So we met here.

It's nice to meet another zoan.

Ah-- and what would a zoan be?

There are three type of devil fruit users. Logia like Ace can turn into elements like fire; paramecia are like my Pops or Luffy and varied between earthquakes or rubber, and zoan like me and Chopper have an extra species of animal.

Oh, I've talked to Ace and Luffy before! Although... what are devil fruit?

A cursed fruit in my world. If you eat one you're cursed for life as they say, but you gain a special ability or power.

Ah, I see. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of special ability did you get?

I sparkle. [Since that's what he tells Seifer. Then he remembers he already told her it was a zoan.]

I'm a phoenix. A blue one. If they have such things where you're from.

Ah, I'm afraid we don't. What is a phoenix like?

Immortal or regenerating firebird.

Oh, that sounds like a Pokemon, actually!

You mean in general?

Yeah, I'm not really as fully human as I seem, eh.

Not in general, no. A particular kind of Pokemon-- a Pokemon from legends, even.

And that may be true, though I don't see a problem with it. You're still a living creature like all others.

Oh? Due to the special nature, mine is even known as a mythic or legendary zoan. What kind is it?

I've never minded.
